  7. This software is distributed as "Shareware".  As such,
  8. you are free to use it to determine if it meets your needs before you
  9. are required to pay for it.  You are free to evaluate this software
  10. for a 15 day period.  If, after that time, you determine that you

  31. The shareware version of BIP is limited to saving files that require
  32. file format conversions, and previewing image processing available in
  33. the full release version.
  34.  
  35. Full Batch processing can be previewed simply by selecting the
  36. processing you desire, then clicking on the Preview button.

  38. In the full featured version, Palette conversions and
  39. Full Batch processing is possible.

  43. INSTALLING BIP
  44.  
  45. The program is distributed compressed into a zip file (BIP.ZIP) and
  46. must be unzipped before installing.  The shareware version requires
  47. VBRUN300.DLL to be in your windows\system directory VBRUN300.DLL is
  48. available for downloading from most online services and BBS's such as
  49. compuserve, aol and others.

  51. The file MSAJT110.DLL was left out of the installation set, to save
  52. download space and time, therefore cost!
  53.  
  54. The file MSAJT110.DLL is required for using the custom filters
  55. feature of BIP but is NOT REQUIRED for running the program.
  56. If you don't have the file, BIP will give an error message when
  57. it starts, you can ignore the message, the application will run
  58. sucessfully.

  60. Like VBRUN300.DLL the file MSAJT110.DLL  is available for downloading
  61. from most online services and BBS's such as compuserve, aol and
  62. others.

  64. The program is distributed along with an "install" program.  The
  65. install program will prompt you for an install directory into which
  66. it will place all required files to run BIP.  It is recommended that
  67. you accept the default directory suggested during the install
  68. process.
  69.  
  70. To run BIP's install program, use Windows' Program Manager; select
  71. FILE | Run from Program Manager's menu and enter the path where the
  72. downloaded BIP files are currently located along with the file name
  73. INSTALL.EXE.  The install program will place all required files into
  74. a directory (the default is C:\BIP).  The install program will then
  75. create a BIP Program Group and insert one icon for BIP.

  77. It is also necessary, to use the user modifiable database of image
  78. filters, to have Share.exe installed in your autoexec.bat
  79. OR
  80. if you use Windows in enhanced mode VSHARE.386 must be installed as a
  81. windows virtual device driver.  VSHARE.386 is available for free
  82. from Microsoft, and many online services and BBS's
  83.  
  84. Once the install program has created its own directory and program
  85. group and you have tested to assure the program runs correctly, you
  86. may delete all the BIP files in your download directory.

  90. USING BIP
  91.  
  92. So how do you use BIP anyway ?
  93.  
  94. Under the Batch List window select Add, then select the files you
  95. want to process, these files will now appear in the Batch List.
  96.  
  97. To view a file in the Batch List, double click on it and
  98. it will appear in the Starting Picture Preview window.  You can
  99. double click in the Starting Picture Preview window to see it
  100. full screen.

  102. Once you have selected a Starting Picture Preview, try changing
  103. some image parameters (try selecting greyscale), then click on
  104. the Preview button.  Your processed image will appear in the
  105. Ending Picture Preview window.
  106. You can double click the Ending Picture Preview window to see
  107. it full screen.

  109. Select the file output format that you want, lots are available.
  110. Select your output directory.
  111. Be carefull if you select Overwrite Existing Files, you really will.
  112. Click the Start Batch button and its all automatic.
